Written work

Against Two Letters of the Pelagians

Contra duas epistulas Pelagianorum libri IV

El retrato más antiguo de Agustín (fresco de Letrán, s. VI)
byAugustine of Hippo

A work of 420–421 dedicated to Pope Boniface I, who had passed on to him two Pelagian letters: one from Julian of Eclanum to Rome and another from eighteen Pelagian bishops to Rufus of Thessalonica. Augustine refutes the charge of Manichaeism made against him and sets out grace as the liberation of the will.
