Against Adimantus, a Disciple of Mani

Contra Adimantum Manichaei discipulum

El retrato más antiguo de Agustín (fresco de Letrán, s. VI)
byAugustine of Hippo

A reply of 393–394 to a work by Adimantus, a disciple of Mani, which piled up alleged contradictions between the Old and New Testaments to prove that the God of Israel is not the God of Jesus. Augustine resolves the passages one by one, defending the unity of the Scriptures.
