Problems (Problemata)
Προβλήματα

Thirty-eight books of questions with possible answers on medicine, physiology, botany, music, optics, mathematics, emotions and customs: why we yawn when we see others yawn, why sea water is heavier, why music cheers us. Problem XXX 1, which asks why all men outstanding in philosophy, politics, poetry or the arts are melancholic, founded the idea of the melancholic genius.

Authorship note
Spurious: transmitted in the Aristotelian corpus but written by other authors, generally later Peripatetics. A school compilation formed over several centuries on the basis of a book of problems that Aristotle did write and that is lost; it contains material from him, from Theophrastus and from later Peripatetics. Bekker 859a–967b.
