Eudemian Ethics
Ἠθικὰ Εὐδήμεια

Aristotle's other great ethics, long overshadowed by the Nicomachean. It raises the same questions — happiness, virtue, choice, justice, friendship — with its own nuances and concludes differently: the good life takes as its standard the service and contemplation of God, and perfection of character is summed up in kalokagathia, the union of the beautiful and the good. Its study has renewed our understanding of the development of Aristotle's ethical thought.

Authorship note
A school treatise of the Aristotelian corpus, regarded as authentic. Like the other surviving treatises, it consists of Aristotle's own teaching materials rather than books meant for the public; the arrangement and titles largely derive from Andronicus of Rhodes's edition (first century BCE). Seven books (IV–VI coincide with books V–VII of the Nicomachean); its name refers to Eudemus of Rhodes. It is now held to be authentic and, by many, earlier than the Nicomachean. Bekker 1214a–1249b.
