Where Does the Sea Water Go?

Куда девается вода из моря?

Lev Tolstói en Yásnaia Poliana (1908)
byLeo Tolstoy

Science piece («reasoning»). Part of the Azbuka cycle (1872–1875), the primers Tolstoy wrote for peasant children, included in the First Russian Reader (1875). Explains the water cycle to children: if all rivers flow into the sea, why does it not overflow? Water rises as mist, forms clouds, falls as rain and returns by the rivers to the sea.
