Lev Tolstói en Yásnaia Poliana (1908)
byLeo Tolstoy

«Byl», or true story. Part of the Azbuka cycle (1872–1875), the primers Tolstoy wrote for peasant children, included in the Second Russian Reader (1875). At Easter a peasant plants a willow switch that grows for years and gives shade and life; at last, old and hollow, it is burnt by children and a raven mocks it.
