Lev Tolstói en Yásnaia Poliana (1908)
byLeo Tolstoy

Tolstoy's first published work and the first part of his autobiographical trilogy. Nikolenka Irtenyev recalls his childhood in the country and in Moscow: the German tutor Karl Ivanych, his mother, the nurse Natalya Savishna, games and first affections, up to his mother's death. Nekrasov published it in The Contemporary in 1852 under the title The Story of My Childhood and the initials L. N. alone.
