Correspondence with Gandhi

Переписка с Ганди

Lev Tolstói en Yásnaia Poliana (1908)
byLeo Tolstoy

Exchange of letters between Tolstoy and Mohandas K. Gandhi, from October 1909 to September 1910. Gandhi writes from London about the passive resistance of the Transvaal Indians and asks leave to circulate A Letter to a Hindu; he later sends his book Hind Swaraj and tells him of Tolstoy Farm. Tolstoy's last long letter, written at Kochety on 7 September (Julian) 1910, two months before his death, declares the Indians' passive resistance the most important question in the world.
