Tale. Part of the Azbuka cycle (1872–1875), the primers Tolstoy wrote for peasant children, included in the Third Russian Reader (1875). A man cheated in the weight of his meat asks the king to have as much flesh cut from the butcher as he was robbed of; the king agrees on condition that he cut the exact weight, and the man gives up.
