The twelfth Aṅga, lost to all Jain branches. According to the descriptions in the Samavāyāṅga and the Nandī, it contained the fourteen Pūrvas, the oldest teaching, which tradition says predates even Mahāvīra and which only Bhadrabāhu came to know in full. Its loss is the origin of the Digambara thesis that complete canonical knowledge disappeared.

Authorship note

Canonical compilation: according to the Śvetāmbara tradition it transmits Mahāvīra's teaching as recited by his disciple Sudharman to Jambū; it was written down at Valabhī (c. 453/466 CE) and contains strata of very different periods. Mahāvīra did not write it. The Digambaras regard the original Aṅgas as lost.
