Laws
Νόμοι

Plato's longest and last work. An Athenian Stranger, the Cretan Clinias and the Spartan Megillus walk towards the cave of Zeus in Crete while they design the legislation of a new colony, Magnesia: education, music and choruses, marriage, property, magistracies, criminal law and theology, with preambles that persuade before commanding. No longer philosophers but law rules, watched over by a Nocturnal Council. Book X contains the first systematic proof of the existence of the gods.

Authorship note
Authentic. According to Diogenes Laertius (III 37) it was left on wax tablets at Plato's death and copied out by Philip of Opus.
