Statesman
Πολιτικός

A continuation of the Sophist: the Eleatic Stranger and the young Socrates seek to define the statesman. Along the way come the myth of the two eras of the cosmos, the paradigm of weaving, the theory of due measure and a classification of regimes. It concludes that the ideal rule would be that of the wise man above the laws, and that, failing him, written laws are the best substitute.
