Crito
Κρίτων

In prison, at dawn, his old friend Crito offers Socrates an escape plan already paid for. Socrates refuses after examining whether it is just to answer injustice with injustice, and gives voice to the Laws of Athens, which remind him of the tacit pact of one who has lived seventy years under them. It is the first great text on political obligation and the duty of obedience.
