Rival Lovers (Lovers)
Ἐρασταί

In the school of the grammarian Dionysius, Socrates asks two young rivals in love — an athlete and a devotee of culture — what philosophy is. Against the idea that philosophising is knowing many things, Socrates argues that it is knowing oneself and exercising the justice and temperance that govern the city.
