Philebus
Φίληβος

Socrates debates with Protarchus whether the good of human life is pleasure, as Philebus holds, or intelligence. The answer is a mixed life ordered by measure, proportion and truth. The dialogue develops a theory of limit and the unlimited, a classification of true and false pleasures and a final ranking of goods. One of the last dialogues, and the only late one in which Socrates again leads the conversation.
