Letter VIII (to the relatives and friends of Dion)
Ἐπιστολή Η
Political advice to Dion's supporters after his death: it proposes a shared constitutional monarchy for Syracuse and the reconciliation of the factions under the rule of law. It suggests a kingship shared among three — Dion's son, Hipparinus (son of Dionysius I) and Dionysius II — and asks the Syracusans to submit to laws rather than to men.

Authorship note
Disputed. It usually shares the fate of the Seventh Letter: those who accept one tend to accept the other.
