How Dangerous It Is to Indulge in Ambitious Dreams
Как опасно предаваться честолюбивым снам

An illustrated humorous piece mixing prose and verse, published on 1 April 1846 in the satirical almanac Pervoe aprelya with drawings by Pavel Fedotov among others. It parodies a petty clerk's fantasies of grandeur. It survives as evidence of the young Dostoevsky's collaboration with Nekrasov's circle in the months of Poor Folk's success.
No edition of this work is currently on sale in a store we have been able to verify.
Authorship note
A collective work in prose and verse, written with Nikolai Nekrasov (the main author) and Dmitry Grigorovich; Dostoevsky's exact share is not delimited.
