A Hundred-Year-Old Woman
Столетняя

A brief sketch from A Writer's Diary (March 1876), based on an encounter a lady of his acquaintance had told him about: a hundred-year-old woman stops to rest on a bench on her way to her relatives, shares a few coins and a few words, and on arriving dies peacefully among her family. Dostoevsky tenderly imagines her life and her being forgotten.
