From the Summer Walks of Kozma Prutkov and His Friend

Из дачных прогулок Кузьмы Пруткова и его друга

Retrato de Fiódor Dostoievski, por Vasili Perov
byFyodor Dostoevsky

A comic fragment from around 1878 that the standard Russian bibliography lists among his stories: two summer strollers converse with the satirical grandiloquence of the bogus sage Kozma Prutkov, a collective figure of Russian literary parody. It shows the humorous vein Dostoevsky kept up to his last years alongside the great novels.
