The Book of Divine Consolation
Daz buoch der götlîchen træstunge (Liber Benedictus I)
A treatise of consolation in three parts: truths about the relation between the just man and justice, some thirty grounds of comfort in loss, and examples of sages and saints. It teaches that whoever suffers with God and for God finds that God suffers with him, and that accepted suffering becomes sweet.

Authorship note
Authentic German work, edited in Die deutschen Werke. First part of the so-called Liber Benedictus, dedicated according to tradition to Queen Agnes of Hungary; the date ranges from 1308 to c. 1318. It was one of the works cited at the trial.
