Meister Eckhart
Treatise on the Lord's Prayer
Written work
Treatise on the Lord's Prayer
Tractatus super oratione dominica
A petition-by-petition commentary on the Our Father, relying on Augustine, Chrysostom and Thomas Aquinas. It is a school work, transmitting patristic learning rather than original thought; its interest lies above all in what it reveals of his training and reading.
