Sister Catherine Treatise

Daz ist swester Katrei

Fraile dominico identificado tradicionalmente con Eckhart (Andrea di Bonaiuto, Via Veritatis)
byMeister Eckhart

A spiritual daughter surpasses her confessor, identified in some copies with Eckhart, on the path of union, until she proclaims 'I have become God'. It witnesses to how Eckhartian doctrine was read in the milieux that worried the Inquisition.

Authorship note

Spurious. An anonymous dialogue from the milieu of the beguines and the Free Spirit (Strasbourg, first half of the fourteenth century), attributed to Eckhart in some manuscripts and by Pfeiffer; modern scholarship excludes it from his work.
