On Detachment
Von abegescheidenheit
A short treatise that places detachment above love, humility and mercy, because it compels God to come into the soul: a detached heart is a blank tablet on which God writes. Its image of the door swinging on its motionless hinge is among the most quoted in German mysticism.

Authorship note
An early attribution accepted by Josef Quint, who edited it in DW V; some scholars have questioned its authenticity on grounds of transmission and style, although the doctrine is Eckhartian.
