Nārada Purāṇa (Nāradīya Purāṇa)
नारदपुराण (नारदीयपुराण)

A Vaiṣṇava Purāṇa in two parts: the first (125 chapters, in four sections) deals with devotion to Viṣṇu, the duties of classes and stages of life, rites and vows and the auxiliary sciences of the Veda, and devotes a chapter to summarising each of the eighteen major Purāṇas, which makes it a valuable document for their history; the second (82 chapters) includes the story of King Rukmāṅgada and long glorifications of pilgrimage places along the Ganges. It is distinguished from the shorter Bṛhannāradīya.

Authorship note
A Mahāpurāṇa named after Nārada because he is the interlocutor (in the first part, Brahmā’s sons led by Sanaka instruct him). A stratified compilation; Hazra dates parts before the 11th century and the rest later. It is not Nārada’s work.
