The Art of Prayer (anthology of Igumen Chariton)
Умное делание. О молитве Иисусовой. Сборник поучений святых отцов и опытных ее делателей
An anthology on the Jesus Prayer compiled by Igumen Chariton of Valaam monastery (Sortavala, 1936), in which most texts are by Theophan—taken above all from his letters—alongside Ignatius Brianchaninov, John of Kronstadt and others. Translated into English in 1966 with an introduction by Timothy (Kallistos) Ware, it became one of the main routes by which the West came to know the prayer of the heart.
No edition of this work is currently on sale in a store we have been able to verify.
Authorship note
Not a book by Theophan but a compilation by Chariton (d. 1947) gathering extracts from him and from other authors; hence the Spanish edition attributes it to Theophan only in part.
