Selected Hymns from the Octoechos

Избранные песнопения из Октоиха

Teófano el Recluso en 1891
byTheophan the Recluse

A translation, in his last years, of hymns of the Octoechos numbered and arranged by tones, days and services. Theophan held that liturgical texts should be rendered into the Slavonic of Dimitry of Rostov's Lives of the Saints, more intelligible, rather than into a new language: he sought to clarify, not replace.
