An article published in Dushepoleznoe chtenie (1876, no. 5) that defends in four sections the priority of the Septuagint: he regards it as a mirror of the Hebrew text as it was two centuries before Christ, translated while Hebrew was a living language, as against a Masoretic text that, in his view, may have been altered.
