Dialogues between Jesus and Judas Iscariot in the days before Passover, in which the master laughs at the other disciples and reveals to Judas the mysteries of the kingdom and a Sethian cosmology. Its interpretation is disputed: the first edition presented Judas as the favourite disciple fulfilling Jesus's will; other specialists read the text as a satire in which Judas remains a demonic figure.

Authorship note

A Gnostic text of the Sethian tradition. Irenaeus of Lyon mentions it around 180 (Against Heresies 1.31.1), which places its composition in the second century. It survives in Coptic in the Codex Tchacos (radiocarbon-dated to around 280), published in 2006 after decades on the antiquities market.
