Rules of the Society (common rules and rules of modesty)
Regulae Societatis Iesu

Everyday norms for Jesuit communities: timetables, household offices, outward conduct and modesty. They are recorded here in order to distinguish what Ignatius himself wrote from what later tradition attributed to him.

Authorship note
A body of regulations that grew between 1540 and 1580. Only some pieces are directly Ignatius's (the rules of modesty of 1555 and rules for offices in the Roman house); the rest come from Nadal, Polanco and later generals. First printed editions in 1580 and 1582.
