Correspondence
Letter on Perfection (to the students at Coimbra)
Carta a los padres y hermanos de Coimbra (7 de mayo de 1547)

Addressed to the young Jesuits of Coimbra, among whom excessive penitential fervour was spreading, it proposes 'discreet charity': study is service, zeal must be measured, and perfection is sought in obedience and moderation rather than spectacular mortification.
