Authorship note

A collection of sayings attributed to Ignatius, assembled by the Hungarian Jesuit Gabriel Hevenesi and published in Vienna in 1705, a century and a half after his death. Many maxims summarise or rework authentic texts; others have no identifiable source. The famous rule about trusting God as if everything depended on oneself comes from here.
