Anima Christi

A medieval Eucharistic prayer ('Soul of Christ, sanctify me; Body of Christ, save me…') which the Exercises cite as a formula for colloquy. It is recorded here to flag a confusion common in prayer books and online.
No edition of this work is currently on sale in a store we have been able to verify.
Authorship note
Spurious. This prayer, which heads many editions of the Exercises because Ignatius recommends it, was already in circulation in the fourteenth century (it survives in a British Museum manuscript of about 1370, in the prayer book of Cardinal Pierre de Luxembourg, †1387, and in an inscription in the Alcázar of Seville from the time of Peter I). The attribution to Ignatius is popular and mistaken.
