Two writings of 1876: the first, in Dushepoleznoe chtenie, recommends quoting the Bible in Slavonic in preaching and teaching and using the new Russian translation only as clarification; the second, in Tserkovny vestnik, argues with Professor I. S. Yakimov and limits recourse to the Hebrew text to pastors, as an occasional aid to exegesis.
