Peking University Laozi (Western Han bamboo slips)

北京大學藏西漢竹書·老子

Laozi cabalgando un buey
byLaozi

The third great ancient witness of the Daodejing, almost complete. Like the Mawangdui scrolls, it divides the book into two parts with the section on Virtue before that on the Way, but it already titles them “Laozi Classic, Part 1” and “Part 2” and counts their characters: a sign that under the Han the text held the rank of a classic.
