Scripture of Laozi's Transformations

老子變化經

Laozi cabalgando un buey
byLaozi

It tells how Laozi, the body of the Dao, has descended again and again throughout history under different names as teacher of rulers, and announces a new appearance. Anna Seidel studied it and reproduced it in facsimile in 1969 as evidence of Han messianic movements.

Authorship note

An anonymous late second-century text preserved in a single Dunhuang manuscript (Stein 2295, a copy dated 612). It does not claim to be by Laozi but a revelation about him; it is included as the key document of his deification.
