真字正法眼蔵

Dōgen contemplando la luna (Tsukimi no zō)
byDōgen

A collection of three hundred cases of Chinese masters' dialogues, without commentary, copied in Chinese. It served Dōgen as a quarry for the Japanese fascicles of the Shōbōgenzō; comparison shows he introduced variants already when copying them.

An anthology of 300 kōans selected by Dōgen from about ten Chinese collections (preface dated 1235). Its authenticity was disputed until the discovery of a Kanazawa Bunko manuscript in the 20th century.
