Chicago Addresses

Addresses at the Parliament of Religions

Swami Vivekananda en Chicago, septiembre de 1893 (con dedicatoria autógrafa)
bySwami Vivekananda

The welcome address ('Sisters and Brothers of America'), 'Why We Disagree', the 'Paper on Hinduism', 'Religion Not the Crying Need of India', 'Buddhism, the Fulfilment of Hinduism' and the closing address. Together they form the manifesto of his universalist Hinduism: tolerance and acceptance of all religions as true, the divinity of the soul against the idea of sin, and the call for each faith to assimilate the spirit of the others while keeping its individuality.
