The Brilliant Star: The Virtues of Dhu l-Nun the Egyptian
الكوكب الدري في مناقب ذي النون المصري (al-Kawkab al-durri fi manaqib Dhi l-Nun al-Misri)
A hagiography of the Egyptian Sufi Dhu l-Nun (d. 861), to whom tradition ascribes the science of spiritual states and Hermetic wisdom. Ibn Arabi gathers his sayings, miracles and anecdotes from earlier sources and builds the portrait of the ideal gnostic, which also mirrors his own conception of the saint.
