Spiritual Canticle (redaction B)
Cántico espiritual (segunda redacción, B)
It reorders the poem so that betrothal precedes spiritual marriage and adds a new stanza and doctrinal passages that systematise the stages. It is the version followed by most devotional editions and that many literary critics consider less fresh than A.

Authorship note
Second redaction (40 reordered stanzas and an expanded commentary), preserved in the Jaén manuscript. Its authenticity was denied by Philippe Chevallier in 1922 and later defended by most Carmelite editors; it is now generally accepted.
