The Dark Night
Noche oscura (declaración de las canciones)
A treatise on the passive night, what God does in the soul: the night of sense, with the signs for leaving discursive meditation and passing to contemplation, and the night of the spirit, a painful purification by infused contemplation, a 'ray of darkness'. Its description of dryness and abandonment has given it relevance beyond Christian spirituality.
