Euthyphro
Εὐθύφρων

At the porch of the King Archon, where he has come to answer Meletus' charge, Socrates meets Euthyphro, who is about to prosecute his own father for homicide, convinced he is acting piously. Socrates asks him to define piety and dismantles his answers one after another; hence the famous dilemma: is the pious pious because the gods love it, or do they love it because it is pious? It is a canonical example of the elenchus without a positive conclusion.

Authorship note
A work by Plato, not by Socrates. It is a literary recreation composed after his teacher's death: it preserves features of the historical Socrates, but his words are those Plato gives him.
