Memorabilia (Memoirs of Socrates)
Ἀπομνημονεύματα

Four books that begin by refuting one by one the charges of impiety and corruption of the young, and go on to dozens of short conversations: Socrates advises his son Lamprocles to be patient with Xanthippe, talks with the sophist Antiphon about poverty, with Aristippus about self-mastery, with craftsmen and generals about their trades. It is the portrait of a practical and pious teacher and the second great source on Socrates alongside Plato.

Authorship note
A work by Xenophon (c. 430–354 BCE), a pupil of Socrates in his youth, who was in Asia at the time of the trial. It mixes his own memories, others' reports and literary elaboration with an apologetic aim.
