The Secret of the Golden Flower
Written work
The Secret of the Golden Flower
Das Geheimnis der goldenen Blüte: Ein chinesisches Lebensbuch

Richard Wilhelm's translation of a Taoist treatise on inner alchemy (Taiyi jinhua zongzhi), with an extensive psychological commentary by Jung. Jung recognises in the 'golden flower' a symbol of the centre of the personality similar to the mandalas his patients drew, and relates that this text confirmed his intuitions and led him to European alchemy.
