Causae et curae (Liber compositae medicinae)

Hildegarda recibe la visión y la dicta a Volmar (Scivias de Rupertsberg)
byHildegard of Bingen

A treatise on cosmology and medicine in five books: creation and the elements, the human body, generation, temperaments and diseases, remedies and diet. It contains pages without parallel in the twelfth century on female desire, the menstrual cycle, human types according to the humours and melancholy, which it explains as an inheritance of the fall. It is the work that has fed modern readings of Hildegard as naturalist and forerunner of holistic medicine.
