Life of Saint Hildegard — Hildegard of Bingen

Posthumous work

Life of Saint Hildegard

Vita sanctae Hildegardis

Hildegarda recibe la visión y la dicta a Volmar (Scivias de Rupertsberg)
byHildegard of Bingen

The principal source for her biography: childhood, enclosure, visions, move to Rupertsberg, illnesses, journeys and death, with the miracles the genre requires. Its exceptional value lies in the first-person passages, where Hildegard narrates her life as a succession of resistances, illnesses and obediences. Included here as a posthumous work from her immediate circle, not as her own writing.
