The Red Book: Liber Novus

Liber Novus (Das Rote Buch)

C. G. Jung en Küsnacht, 1955
byCarl Gustav Jung

A large folio volume bound in red leather, written between 1914 and 1930 in medieval script and adorned with 53 paintings by Jung. It contains, reworked, the fantasies of the Black Books: the descent into the unconscious, dialogues with the soul, with Elijah and Salome, with Philemon and with Izdubhar, and a visionary theology. It remained with the family until its facsimile edition in 2009 and is the source of all his later work.
