The Garden of the Prophet

A sequel to The Prophet: Almustafa returns to his island and converses with nine disciples in his mother's garden. It contains the poem 'Pity the Nation', widely quoted in political contexts. It was the second part of a planned trilogy (the third, The Death of the Prophet, was never written).

Authorship note
Gibran left the text unfinished; Barbara Young completed and arranged it with fragments from his papers, and it cannot be determined with certainty which passages belong to whom. It should be read as a work of shared authorship.
