Yogic Sadhan

Sri Aurobindo hacia 1900
bySri Aurobindo

Nine short chapters of yoga instructions and an “editor’s epilogue”. It is included here because it circulated for decades as Aurobindo’s work, and he called “a lying blurb” the publisher’s claim presenting it as a guide to his yoga. An example of his early interest in automatic writing.

Authorship note

Published in 1911 (reissued 1920, 1923, 1933) with “the Uttara Yogi”, a pseudonym of Aurobindo, as editor. He himself stated that it was not his work: he received it by automatic writing in 1910—attributed to Ram Mohan Roy—and only added an epilogue. He withdrew the book from circulation around 1934.
