Truth and Knowledge
Wahrheit und Wissenschaft. Vorspiel einer «Philosophie der Freiheit» (GA 3)
An expanded version of his Rostock doctoral thesis (1891) on Fichte's theory of knowledge, dedicated to Eduard von Hartmann. It discusses Kant and contemporary epistemology and concludes that there are no limits in principle to knowledge, because in thinking the subject attains the unity of the given and the conceptual. It is the declared prelude to The Philosophy of Freedom.
