Written in 1199 at the request of the vizier al-Qadi al-Fadil (hence the title *al-Risāla al-Fāḍiliyya*), it deals with snakebites, stings and poisonings, with practical first-aid instructions. It was one of the most widely circulated toxicology texts of the Middle Ages.
